Will I ever sleep again? As a new mom this thought often crosses my mind. My last sound, well rested night of sleep, was quite frankly before I was pregnant, over a year ago! (Face… More
There are a million stories be of moms struggling to breastfeed. So when I had my little one I prayed that breastfeeding would go well. It’s been five months and it’s safe to say my prayers have been answered. Both me and baby got the hang of it, and easily settled into a routine. A sleep deprived routine, but a routine non the less.
Then came time to start leaving home with baby. Time to try the bottle I thought. I followed all the advice I’d gotten and waited until baby successfully breastfeed for a while before trying her with a bottle. My first attempt failed, she made the worse face when the plastic nipple touched her lips. I tried and tried but she just hated it. So I stopped. Continue reading “Battle with the bottle”
The weather is good so it’s time to start checking things of my summer bucket list. This year we plan to take full advantage of the sunshine and plan as many outdoor activities as possible.
This weekend we kicked things off with an out of town adventure. A quick one hour drive away to the valley. Our Canada day celebrations took us to Wolfville, Nova Scotia. More specifically, a winery tour.
We arrived at the information desk to see a british style, double decker bus parked out front. We signed in and got our passes and boarded the magic winery bus. Continue reading “First summer outing with baby”
The most factual saying I’ve heard about parenting is… “it takes a village to raise a child”. It literally does. But what happens if your “village” is far away? Like in another country. What if you don’t have a village at all? Suppose your village doesn’t have all the answers? That’s where the Baby Binder comes in handy!
The Baby Binder is your “mommy manual”. It’s a collection of checklists and guides to help you navigate becoming a parent.
While each week’s blog post focuses on a different topic and has a free Baby Binder Checklist download; this week is a bit more specific. For my parents in Halifax Nova Scotia, this one is for you. A parents resource guide for new moms (and dad’s) in the HRM. Continue reading “Parents Resource Guide |Halifax, Nova Scotia Edition”

What’s the best part of planning for baby? Shopping! Yup, nothing beats the thrill of picking out all the the baby gear, and cute outfits for your little one to wear. But, before you run to your nearest baby store to buy everything in sight, put down the credit card and pause a sec.
If you plan on having a baby shower, or if one is being thrown in your honor then you should think about creating a baby registry first. Even if you won’t be having a formal organized event, family and friends may want to gift you items. Setting up a baby registry will help you avoid the hassle of manually keeping track of what you already have, and what you still need for baby.
A baby registry allows you to make a complete list of everything you need, while simultaneously removing items as they are purchased whether by you, or as a gift for you.

Pregnancy can quickly become all about baby, and rightfully so. I mean, it kinda is…but mom still matters!
I’ll be the first to admit that my baby binder had everything to help me prepare for baby’s arrival. But one of the most important checklists I created was my ultimate mom-to-be checklist.
The mom-to-be checklist is a practical guide to help you keep organized while remembering to take care of stuff for yourself.
First things first, you’ll need to do a little shopping. My suggestion is to get as much done in your second trimester. That way, you’re not running around trying to rush to get things done in your final weeks before delivery.
You’re pregnant, and in a few months (or weeks) you’ll be heading to the hospital to deliver. Nothing can truly prepare you for everything that is to come, but, you can plan ahead as much as possible to avoid added anxiety. Packing your hospital bag is one of those things that you can check off your mom-to-be to do list way in advance of your due date.
If this is your first child, don’t feel left out if you don’t know what to pack in your hospital bag. The Baby Binder has tons of easy to use checklists to get it done, simply and quickly.
Pack your bag with a few key ideas in mind. Continue reading “What to pack in your hospital bag |For labor and delivery”
